The SS982HP Ford Ranger 4x4 Snorkel is designed to deliver up to 50% more air than the OE air intake for Ford Ranger engines.
Given the popularity of performance upgrades through engine management and larger exhaust systems, Safari 4x4 Engineering decided to develop a snorkel system that not only raises the air intake to prevent harmful elements from entering the vehicle's air filter, but is also able to to direct the required volume of air into the engine and thus maximize the potential for increased performance.
Massive airflow is just one aspect of the ultimate snorkel design for the Ford Ranger. The Safari ARMAX Snorkel AIR RAM is designed to accomplish two very important tasks. The most obvious is to direct cool, clean air into the snorkel body - but just as importantly, the Safari ARMAX air piston acts as a highly efficient water separator to remove rainwater from the incoming airflow - allowing safe engine operation in even the most intense tropical storms guarantee.
